Legal / Government Relation Senior Manager – Nissan Motor Indonesia – DKI Jakarta

Responsibilities :

Management and working responsibility for all legal issues related to the operations of the company including, without limitation;
Distribution Agreement(s) and related transactions
Advertising, Marketing/Sales and consumer issues
Purchasing (Parts, F&SS and Component related)
Competition law/regulatory matters
Intercompany Agreements (development, manufacturing licenses, vehicle and parts supply, etc.)
Joint venture/Strategic partnership agreements including agreements with other manufacturers/suppliers
HR
Litigation
M&A
Corporate secretarial work
Managing external counsel and Legal budget
Employment and labor matters
Lobbying on all regulatory issues that affect the industry.
Establish and maintain positive relationships at all levels of government, public services, and other authorities to facilitate communication and help advance the organization’s business interests.
Represent the organization’s position on legislation and government policy to government representatives, committees, and other regulatory agencies so that the organization’s interests are advanced.
Monitor, analyze, and interpret developments in politics and government policy and advise senior management on how these trends may impact the organization’s business interests.
Manage the organization’s most high level, complex, controversial, or critical government relationship to ensure that all the organization’s dealings with government agencies are conducted ethically, legally, and according to the organization’s compliance policies and standards.
In addition, the incumbent will;
Deal “hands on” with the most significant legal issues for in Indonesia including joint ventures/strategic partnerships with other manufacturers/suppliers, agreements with government authorities, corporate issues, tax related affairs and HR issues.
Play an active role in setting-up this company and preparing for the business commencement.
Draft and negotiate contracts.
Draft and prepare organizational documents, minutes, etc.
Play an active role in lobbying and managing government relationships.
Actively communicate, cooperate and coordinate with colleague in the Nissan Global Legal Function and other shareholders of this company.

Requirement:

Minimum Bachelor Degree from reputable university, major in Law with GPA min. 3.00.
Has more than 5 years experiences of working with in-house, and particularly the automotive sector, would be advantages but not pre-requisites. Retail or manufacturing experience would also be an advantage.
Candidates from law firms are welcome to apply but an appreciation of the environment that the recruit will be required to operate within is necessary.
Fluent in English is a must (Oral and Written).
An excellent grasp of contract law (especially under Indonesian laws)
A good grasp of the regulatory framework in Indonesia
Excellent presentational skills and the ability to persuasively put an argument with senior managers, third parties and government officials
Accomplished drafting skills in English
A proven track record in commercial law working in an international environment
Able to turn their hands to almost any type of legal issue however complex or simple
