Business Development Specialist – Yayasan Plan International Indonesia

Responsibilities:
Key Results Area (KRA1): Support Plan International Indonesia to reach its annual funding goals in grant acquisition. Take technical leadership on small scale proposal development (below 500,000 EUR), research proposal that seeks for or part of the institutional donor funding opportunities and/or backstop large proposal development as directed by Business Development Manager, including: engage with LLDT Program Team, Program Implementation Area team, HR team, and Finance team in packaging grant proposals to suit the requirements of different donors, engage with Marketing Communications team to develop visibility/communication strategy and a separate marketing collateral aimed at different audiences (NOs, Institutional donors, Corporates etc); engage with MER&D Manager and Grants Manager in developing a comprehensive tracking, evaluation, monitoring and reporting framework for external grants, apply the cost recovery policy and refers to standard cost for proposal/budget development, ensure all new grant documentation is correctly filed and maintained in electronic through C-ONET and/or other accessible shared drive. Engage with National Office colleague in building and maintaining successful, proactive relationships which align (international) corporate donor priorities with programme needs. Manage requests for information and follow up with donor, NO and other stakeholders and respond accordingly. Ensure best practice in proposal design with liaison and coordination with all internal stakeholders and external partners (e.g: partner CSOs, government counterparts, corporate partners etc). Maintains a roster of suitable resources/consultants for proposal development should that capacity not exist internally; including coordinating with HR team in publishing a transparent vacancy for such consultancy services, if necessary.
Key Results Area (KRA2): Ensure donor and grant information management. Support donor liaison and tracking of information/intelligence and funding opportunities in donor mapping documents through donor strategic document, website announcement, and other call for papers.Produce and maintain donor mapping and all funding opportunities cycle database (by sector and geography) in Indonesia. Maintain grant tracking data and follow-up an opportunities including regular inputs to GPMT (Grants Pipeline Management Tools) and update in Planet and excel format (database), including identifying and marking which one is corporate donors obtained by Business Development Team and Local Fundraising Team.
Key Results Area (KRA3): Ensure donor liaison and representation and build external relationships Represent the organisation with external donors in order to mobilise resources, as assigned by the Business Development Manager. Maintain good communication and working relationships with NOs and donors. Researching where potential opportunities for other type of grants funding can be found; including engaging with National Office colleagues in researching and exploring potential corporate donors that is relevant with Country Strategy and programme needs.
Key Results Area (KRA4): Support capacity building initiatives for Plan International Indonesia programme and operational staff , Strengthen the capacity of programmatic staff in proposal design, and applying donor regulations to proposal design and revisions. Where appropriate, support the participation and capacity of partner staff to engage in proposal design. Provide technical support to operational staff regarding proposal design and grant regulations

Experience
At least five years experience in a similar job preferably in an INGO. Knowledge of funding opportunities especially calls, formats and donor compliance in diverse institutional donors (EU, USAID, AusAid, DFID, SIDA etc.). Demonstrated knowledge in budgeting principles and all aspects of proposal design. Knowledge of corporate donors and foundation working approaches preferred. Knowledge of Plan CCCD approach and rights based development work, relevant sectoral experience desirable. Excellent writing skills. In-depth experience of proposal preparation, using previous lessons learned. Ability to lead processes and coordinate between a wide range of actors to achieve tight deadlines. Representational skills, able to present information concisely and effectively to external actors. Understanding of donor regulations and seeks solutions to ensure strategic and financially viable projects within donor regulations. Good quality analytical communication skills to work with Plan and donor stakeholders. Capacity to design and deliver training content for proposal engagement and development. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, policy development and fluent written/spoken English.
