MPA Specialist-1 – Spectrum Brands, Inc – Charlotte

Job Summary
The MPA Specialist performs all warehouse job functions including but not limited to picking product, packing product into boxes for orders, product sub assembly and preparing orders for shipment, and palletizing orders. and could also be responsible to manifest orders for UPS.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Picking/Packing/Sub Assembly/Sorting (70%)
Picks the correct quantities of product from the proper location to place into orders to be shipped to customers.
Accurately pick product using either an RF device or through a pick to light system to identify the product and location to pick from. May also pick from a pick sheet, and utilize a cart and/or tote to accumulate items for an order.
Builds and packs all master cartons to accommodate product picks.
Affixes proper bar code labels on completed orders to ensure proper delivery to our customers.
May stack product or completed orders on appropriate pallets to be staged and delivered to customers.
Place completed packaged orders on conveyor to be sent to staging/palletizing area
Works to meet expected levels of productivity and pick accuracy to meet the standards in place for the job or task.
Operates equipment in the facility to cut keys, build cylinders, stake product and/or move product throughout the warehouse.
Works within a part of a cohesive team to accomplish the organization’s objectives.
Ability to reach production standards consistently.

Safety Compliance/Inventory Control/Maintenance (20%)
Ensures good housekeeping standards are in place and are executed daily to guarantee that the warehouse (including work areas) is clean and organized at all times.
Ensures compliance with all safety policies, housekeeping rules, OSHA standards/regulations and Spectrum Brands, HHI policies and procedures.
Participates in all safety training and programs at the facility.
Monitors power equipment use, ensures it adheres to Spectrum Brands, HHI safety standards, and reports any violations to immediate supervisors.
Follows all procedures to identify and process damaged product in the facility.
Have at a minimum 5 safety conversations with associates per week.

Generates ideas and participates in continuous improvement projects with teams of associates to drive improvements in safety, processes, and productivity.
Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Education and Experience Profile
High school diploma or equivalent or 1-2 years of experience in a production environment, manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills
General knowledge of manufacturing layout.
Knowledge of key warehouse functions (i.e. Receiving, Inventory Management, Order Processing, Replenishment, and Shipping).
Broad knowledge of methods and procedures in the various warehouse functions.
Ability to read, write, understand and effectively communicate pertinent information and standard operating procedures.
Must be able to function in a quick moving, highly interactive team environment.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekend hours as required.
Must have the ability to multi task as well as be detail oriented.
Must possess natural curiosity and ability to recognize missing elements.
Must be able to perform productively without specific daily direction.
Must have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively with other people and departments.
Must be a self-starter, creative thinker, and results oriented individual.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

Work Environment
Working conditions are normal for a warehouse environment in a production environment.
